The Atlas Case - Leather & Waxed Canvas iPad / Sketchbook / EDC / Tool Case
Inspired by my regular hikes in our local, La Canada Flintridge Mountains, the idea for this case came about as I often like to bring a sketch book and pencils when I go hiking, without having to carry a bulky bag or backpack.
This can also carry an iPad, Tablet or E-Reader, 2-4 pens, and a couple of notebooks (Moleskine, Field Notes, etc.), or, can be used to carry your Everyday Carry gear, with pockets big enough for a couple pocket knives, a fire-starter kit, or a few books. Would make a great Tool Case as well.
This design hearkens back to old map cases used by pioneering surveyors and naturalists, like John Muir and Jack London, when the wild parts of the West were still being discovered.
This one is made from a thick but supple, oil-tanned leather, in a deep Wine color and lined with a Khaki waxed cotton, that has already been broken in, so it's nice to the touch.
Carries quite a bit on its own, but can fit easily in a backpack or messenger bag.
